MUNI is proposing to eliminate service for many hilltop residents of San Francisco including #39 bus service on the steep hill up Union to Montgomery.
What this petition is about:
The undersigned believe that the proposed elimination of transit service to residents of our city’s hilltops is wrong-headed, unfair and unreasonable. This drastic measure will deprive these hill-top communities, in particular the elderly and infirm, of their ONLY public transit link. The proposed cut to the #39 service is not the right way to fix the MUNI’s budget issue, especially given the City’s transit first policy.
The undersigned join many of the impacted residents together with organizations such as RENEWSF, Telegraph Hill Dwellers, North Beach Neighbors, San Francisco Tomorrow and Fisherman’s Wharf merchants in opposing the proposed cut in service.
The undersigned urge the MTA board to maintain the vital hilltop transit service and give our community and similarly affected areas in the city an opportunity to develop a workable plan to increase ridership. (Undersigned's name will be placed on supporters page, listed alphabetically)
